Organization:

The Co-op is a member-based participatory democracy, with one vote per member. The co-operative is managed by a management company. Members elect a Board of Directors who govern the co-op and oversee the management. Volunteer committees research options and make recommendations which assist the Directors in their decision-making. We endorse the principles of Good Governance, Sound Management and Principled Leadership.

Member involvement in the Governance of the Co-op is encouraged. Opportunities to do this include attending and voting at general meetings, volunteering time on a committee and serving on the Board of Directors. Members are also encouraged to engage in community activities. We are looking for members who desire a stable family environment and are willing to be involved in our diverse community. Our energetic volunteers help make our community strong. We welcome applications from people of all ages: singles, couples, families and retired persons.

We are owners in common and collectively responsible for running our co-op. We want members who are “hands-on” when it comes to shaping our community. General meetings are held approximately four times a year. Committee meetings and other activities are as scheduled.

Other:

Each unit is equipped with laundry hook-ups and electric heat, and is wired for both cable and satellite TV. Draperies are not supplied.

Each household is required to carry appropriate household insurance and submit proof of insurance annually.

The Co-operative is a member of both the Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada (CHF/Canada) and Co-operative Housing Federation of British Columbia (CHF/BC).

Robert's Rules of Order are used at meetings.
